Three marking methods of commonly used resistors

1. Straight mark method
The value of the resistor type and main technical parameters is directly marked on the surface of the resistor (no error is marked as allowable error ± 20%).

2 . Literal notation
The regular combination of Arabic numerals and text symbols is used to represent the nominal resistance, and the allowable deviation is also expressed by text symbols. The number in front of the symbol represents the integer resistance, and the numbers after it represent the first decimal resistance and the second decimal resistance in turn.

The text symbol indicating the allowable error:
Text symbols D F G J K M
Allowable deviation ±0.5% ±1% ±2% ±5% ±10% ±20%

3. Color scale method
Color ring resistors are the most common type of resistors used in various electronic devices. They can be easily read out during installation and maintenance for easy detection and replacement.

The color scale method refers to the use of four color circles, five color circles or six color circles to represent the resistance value on the resistor, and the color information representing the resistance value can be read at once from any angle.

The color circle is mainly applied to cylindrical resistors, such as carbon film resistors, metal film resistors, metal oxide film resistors, fuse resistors, and wire-wound resistors.

Identification sequence:
1. First find the color circle that marks the error, so as to arrange the color circle order;
2. Discrimination whether the brown ring is an error sign;
3. In the case where the color ring sequence cannot be determined by the color ring pitch alone, the production sequence value of the resistor can also be used to determine.
