Features of shunt resistors

2021-07-16
Shunt resistor is the resistance of a conductor in parallel with a certain circuit. In the case of the total current unchanged, a shunt connected in parallel on a certain circuit will play a role of shunting, and part of the current is passed through the shunt, so that the current passing through the part of the circuit becomes smaller. The smaller the resistance of the shunt resistor, the more obvious the shunt effect. Connecting a shunt resistor of low resistance in parallel at both ends of the galvanometer coil can expand the range of the galvanometer and refit it into an ampere meter, which can measure larger currents. The choice of resistance directly affects the shunt current ratio.

In the case of the total current unchanged, a shunt connected in parallel on a certain circuit will play a role of shunting, and part of the current is passed through the shunt, so that the current passing through the part of the circuit becomes smaller. The size of the shunt can be selected from the next amplifier and hundreds of thousands of currents, but the price can be very expensive.
